Hotel Near The Witte Museum

Established in 1926, the Witte Museum is dedicated to the education of South Texas heritage, science and natural history. The permanent exhibits feature Texas art, dinosaur bones, historic artifacts, cave drawings, photographs, wildlife dioramas, the world famous Hertzberg Circus Collection and the renowned HEB Science Treehouse. The museum most recently added the 20,000 sq. ft. Robert J. and Helen C. Kleberg South Texas Heritage Center - home to the Witte Museum's South Texas exhibitions, collections and public programs.

Student Programs

The Witte Museum offers several types of student programs
  • Interactive: 45 minutes; $1.50 per student.
  • Extended Interactive: 90 minutes; $2.00 per student.
  • Student Workshops: 2.5 hours; $2.50 per student.

  • What is the CSI exhibit?

    Take your turn at cracking the case! The CSI exhibit is created in cooperation from the TV show “Crime Scene Investigation.” The exhibit takes you into the world of cutting edge investigative techniques used to examine evidence to solve crimes. Visitors will experience hands-on science in a thrilling multi-media environment with amazing special effects directly from the CSI television series.
  • What is the Aliens exhibit?

    The Aliens Worlds and Androids exhibit is an exciting display of cutting-edge science currently being used to help in the exploration of life in space, alien life, robots and artificial intelligence. Learn how exoskeletons and robotic suits give human super strengths and discover the difference between robots and androids.
